Caravanning - a success story

Every year, newcomers of all ages join the large fan base of motorhome, van and caravan drivers. And according to new market research studies, this trend is set to continue. The latest figures from the Federal Motor Transport Authority, which are regularly published by the CIVD, also provide optimism for manufacturers. However, they are still struggling with challenges such as a shortage of skilled workers, insufficient logistics capacities and material bottlenecks that have not yet been fully eliminated.

From January to September 2023, new registrations of motorhomes and caravans remained at a fairly high level. Motorhomes increased slightly, while the caravan market weakened somewhat.

We're off for a while

People who travel want to decide spontaneously on a destination, enjoy nature "off-road", take bikes, motorcycles or sports equipment on board, or be on the road without giving up the comfort they are used to at home. Caravanning fulfills all these vacation wishes like hardly any other form of vacation. In order to meet individual customer requirements, leisure vehicle manufacturers are constantly working on adapting their portfolio to the market.

From January 31 to February 4, 2024, visitors to ABF, northern Germany's largest leisure trade fair, will be able to see this for themselves.

Well-known manufacturers such as Adria, Clever, Dethleffs, Eura Mobil, Fendt, Hobby, Hymer, KABE, Knaus, LaStrada, LMC, Mooveo, Morelo, Niesmann + Bischoff, Pössl and many more. will not only be presenting new layouts, modern facelifts and unusual interiors at the ABF in Halls 21, 24 and 25, but will also be showing what is possible in the caravanning sector in terms of safety technology, connectivity, sustainability and alternative energy supply. From panel vans, which can also be used as a mobile office, to 4x4 off-road vans and family-friendly entry-level caravans, through to high-end luxury motorhomes - the ABF's range of exhibits will once again inspire visitors. Tent trailers, tents and car roof tents will also be there again. Well-known brands such as Trigano, Campwerk and Vickywood, as well as newcomers such as Roof Space, will be presenting their latest developments.

The DCC regional association for Lower Saxony will once again be on hand to answer any questions about caravanning.
