There is an extensive program for builders, homeowners, investors, planners and experts as well as anyone interested in building. In addition, the B.I.G. offers informative lectures on the subject of gardens.
Forum Living & Energy
For prospective modernizers and building owners, the B.I.G. offers a free daily lecture program on all aspects of energy-efficient construction. The topics in the Housing and Energy Forum are wide-ranging: Modernization of old buildings from the roof to the basement, natural building materials and energy-efficient system technology, subsidies and much more.
The presentations on the five days of the fair are organized by the Bundesverband Altbauerneuerung e.V. (BAKA), the Energie-Beratungs-Zentrum Hildesheim in cooperation with the Klimaschutzagentur Region Hannover and the enercity-Fonds proKlima.
The BAKA has been very familiar with existing properties for 50 years and is the neutral and independent institution in Germany for building in existing buildings, modernization, energy-efficient building refurbishment and monument preservation.

Sustainable renovation and energy saving
For more than 20 years, the non-profit Climate Protection Agency Hannover Region has been advising homeowners, companies and private individuals independently and free of charge on the topics of energy saving, energy-efficient modernisation of buildings and the use of renewable energies. In the current advisory services, independent energy experts provide information on modernising heating systems with heat pumps, photovoltaics & solar thermal energy and renovating the building envelope.
At the B.I.G., the team from the Hannover Region Climate Protection Agency will be demonstrating how homeowners can save energy through sustainable modernisation. The exhibits on show will include a solar panel, a heat pump and an insulation tower. Energy consultants from the Hannover Region Climate Protection Agency and the Lower Saxony Consumer Advice Centre will be on hand to provide information and answer questions!
At the exhibition stand, visitors can also register directly for the advisory services and the newsletter on all current topics relating to home renovation.
